The energy of the Realm of Territories in the Nomadic Oracle can be summed up in the single word.
Enclosure.
The Bully.
There are many, many millions of people alive now who are totally aware that something very strange crept into the psyche of humanity a long, long time ago and became established as a way of being so normal that it has gone apparently unquestioned throughout history. It has created any number of 'pillars of the establishment' yet is the biggest single cause of suffering ever created on Earth, and although allegedly unchallenged, has been the subject of billions of words, from rap to the Renaissance, from philosophy to the spiritual and even the political since the 'dawn of time' - the beginning of our ability to record and document what it is we have been aware of and have been thinking about.
It is curious. Societies have often sought both wisdom and legitimacy from the few who have been considered able to see beyond the 'present game', who are able to perceive and explain a wider view through their experience, enlightenment or education. Such people have worked hard to give humanity a sense of worth, have brought visions of freedom and equality, have written charters, constitutions and declarations in which the rights of the individual have been enshrined on miles of paper. The respect they have received from within their cultures, which granted them this power and voice, has come from their ability to think and act altruistically. That is, they were trusted not to allow their own interests or those of their social group, relatives or friends to cloud the issue or divert the truth as they perceived it to be.
It would seem that, collectively, we readily create emotional surrogates. Temples of the enlightened hold for the community the spiritual health of the people. Philosophers thinking of freedom are encouraged to write and speak using a coded language unintelligible to most others as they themselves become neatly neutralised in the University of the Obscure. The constitutions and declarations which proclaim the enlightenment of the State are locked away from public view as an embarrassment, a threat perhaps to 'realpolitik' solutions to present difficulties, whatever they may be. Often such difficulties are strategically self-inflicted as a matter of course through wilful ignorance and the 'solutions' come with a 'correctional' energy of domination and violence which has no legitimacy.
Leading voices from within political societies are well known for proclaiming the virtues of free-thinkers and activists in other parts of the world while making dissent amongst their own fellow citizens impossible, illegal, anti-social or dangerous.
If the 'ghost in the machine' were hypocrisy it wouldn't be so bad. It is a part of the problem, of course, as is despair and greed, but the culprit is actually far more obvious and less conceptual. The sad fact is that, as a species, we have become willing to be bullied and, until now, have found no viable defense against the bad behaviour of the 'unresolved' barbarian, either within society or within the self.
What a History of 'Civilisation 1' May Reveal.
A fundamental Change of Age is clearly now emerging through the global communications and instant messaging which most people will eventually have access to and which will be reinforced by technologies yet to emerge fully, such as accurate syntactical language translation. The process has already begun and will continue to provide us all with the opportunity and the tools to see with fresh eyes what has been going on, and why. We are beginning to discover how unnervingly similar political action has been since the beginning of the form of collectivisation we are encouraged to call civilisation.
One of the golden rules of the Cosmos, also found in Chaos Theory, seems to be that it is important to start the way you intend to go on, that the initial conditions are always critical to development, or, as the Oracle puts it, that the energy at the beginning has no way to disperse and provides an all-pervading ambiance into the future. From inside the illusion, the bubble, such an ambiance is camouflaged and often invisible.
Culturally, we are encouraged to believe that we are evil, violent, self-serving predators and that this is 'human nature', from which we must of course both defend ourselves and be defended against through the kindly ministrations of the State. Nature 'red in blood and claw' is equally demonised as this supports the vision, in the sense that it is our 'animal nature' which is the real problem. Parts of the media seem to thrive on these threads when not celebrating the latest military toys. This is of course a scam but creates a feeling of paranoia which, in turn, empowers the leaders to maintain their own agendas, for the benefit of themselves, their social group and that of their friends.
In all probability, the history of 'Civilisation 1' will show that, throughout, the collectivisation has been barbaric and enforced, undertaken by groups of wandering and savage, technologically enhanced slavers fueled on machismo and ignorance, who put the freely associating local population to work. The result of course was a destruction of the values of the victims who, if they survived, would eventually be forced to join the stronger side. Others just hid themselves in quiet pockets to await better times, and are really still waiting.
Fear
The political manipulation of the population through fear has been an ongoing device in maintaining the ambiance of barbarism. This is now fully revealed to the global gaze. Only the very innocent or those in complete denial can have failed to notice. Again, this is just the continuous replay of the initial conditions.
One of the Nomadic Oracle's cultural fellow-travellers, the ancient Oracle of the Bones, describes a horrific and perpetual reign of terror across a bit of land now called China which established dynasties of rulers by the deliberate manipulation of a huge number of people through ghastly acts of barbarity. Rather than being an isolated case, it has been the rule. If the only way to create a collective was through slavery and fear, perhaps one can question whether it was, or has ever been, in the best interests of a majority of people to go along with it. They had no option but we do have a choice. Tribal and nomadic cultures throughout the world have universally answered the question with a 'no way, we aren't going to join in with this, it's madness, valueless and grossly offends the energy of our spirits', or something similar.
The correction and coercion by one adult over another has no obvious legitimacy and is in opposition to human nature. People are naturally free as a product of universal human intelligence. The alleged blindness and complete shallowness of the leaders who seem to be ignorant of their role as protectors of the freedom of the individual is a major cause of the frustrations now being openly expressed in many places across the world.
The Devil in the Landscape.
If the devils we used to hide from were the infantile projections of our desire to experience fear, ably assisted by people who might benefit from an atmosphere of perpetual anxiety, those we now worship - Money, Land and Convenience - are not. They are real and they are all-powerful. Their worship is having a fundamental effect on future human sustainability. In reality we have become so mesmerised that many people are giving the barbarian-within full permission to play the end-game of a hedonist.
In an impossible grab for wealth merchant interests have become so swollen that they dominate all ecologies, now including education and 'semi-independant' seats of learning, yet have no ethical commitment to human evolution, true sustainability or a humanity-based value system. Most workers are now downgraded to the level of a 'resource' and are screened for their compliance to company behaviour and mind-set. This is simply an enslavement of the mind which negates the creativity essential to human development. No one can compensate for the loss of potential such systems demand from the individual.
The rape of Planet Earth has become a nightmare of ultra-heavy machinery, non-human or inhuman control systems and cleverer and cleverer methods of extraction and manufacture. These processes are irresponsible, irreversible and self-seeding. There can no longer be any doubt about the devastation these merchant interests are responsible for and include the drying of the Amazon basin, which is equivalent to planetary murder. Why the UN has failed to identify this level of environmental devastation as a crime against humanity is not simply that they lack the imagination to do so. They don't want to and for exactly the same reason that we have not developed a single world-wide currency.
There is light at the end of this tunnel. The system is overloaded, the planet in crisis and many people now believe that it really is game over for the whole Age of Luxury. Others, seeing this, are raising awareness at an astonishing rate and are already preparing themselves for the fun to come as the system discovers that it is massively in debt and begins to pay for a history of abuses.
Curiously, most of us know in our hearts that what has been going on is unsustainable and childish, but in a sinister game of blind man’s bluff, we have continually blamed the preceding generation for the problem and somehow hoped that the next generation will find the cure. It seems that time has finally caught up with us. In only forty years since we watched Earthrise for the first time, and confirmed in our hearts the true loneliness of our existence, we have succeeded in reaching the very edge of the precipice.
The barbarian who first declared war against our planet, through the enclosure of land and the mass exploitation of it’s resources, has finally had his way. With technologies that, in the very recent past could only have been dreamt of, we are now in possession of all the weapons needed to declare outright victory and to harvest the last of the spoils. Naturally, not knowing what else to do, we have created some interesting new monuments to our conquest. In the oceans, in five vast gyres the size of large countries, collections of plastic debris are forming man-made islands. What we can see is only the tip of the iceberg since most of the rubbish is far below the surface. And, in a spherical cloud of aluminium, titanium, stainless steel and other junk, we have decorated this beautiful planet with a new, increasingly dense crown of thorns.
Earth may have the last word though. The science fiction fantasy of leaving it all behind will never be an option but, according to Nasa, even less ambitious adventures are proving to be increasingly hazardous. Even a very small object can destroy a spaceship given the speeds they must travel at to achieve escape velocity. Viewed over any sensible time period, the junk is there to stay.
These may be unpalatable facts but they are nothing compared with unpalatable lies. The Nomadic Oracle is not a political work and does not in any way see its mission as being subversive. It is dedicated to raising consciousness through the empowerment of the individual by attempting to point out that we may all be far greater and more enabled than we have been led to believe. The Oracle is dedicated to freedom and equality as a reality, not a pipe dream. The negative must be looked at hard and acknowledged before it can be turned to positive.
The Oracle is nomadic, and it is with good reason that nomads have always mistrusted the creation of territories.
Mountain ~ Consciousness in the Realm of Territories
The Aspects of the Realm of Territories describe energies such as possession, headspace, secrecy, sanctuary and predation. The Oracle takes a deeply nomadic view of territory, both the actual and physical drawing of boundaries and, by extension, any mental limits to awareness which create an unnatural 'inside' or 'outside' pigeon-holed view of reality. This may be the box we might encourage ourselves to think beyond.
In a sense, 'Mountain' speaks of raising awareness beyond the effects of the 'containers' of territory. Although this gives a clear view to the horizon, 'Mountain' also points out the essential nature of value.
The vein of gold 'Mountain' offers the Oracle lies in its ability to indicate the existence of the core. The mountain may just be a rock, but it is here one may make a stand and discover the very solid, very hard inner crystal which we all possess.
There will be times when no one gets to push you off your rock. If this determination is true it will be because it is not through the action of the ego but a direct route to core value. 'Mountain' redefines the nature of territory, the limits still exist despite the raising of awareness it suggests. The final boundary has been reached, defined by what it is you are simply not willing to accept. The Universe may place this challenge in the path simply so that you can answer the question for yourself and thereby discover the core.
There appears to be one further 'level' to this dance. People for instance who have recognised that their evolution is a personal responsibility and are aware that the Universe is an information stream may consider this - in this action you may notice the subtle assistance you are receiving. It may be a brutal jig but this is sometimes how your Spirit gets to say 'hello'. Watch out for irony, the Universe has a wicked sense of humour.
Circle of Silence ~ Air in the Realm of Territories
The energies of communication, which the Oracle names Air, are given to 'Circle of Silence'. Ideas of the containment and creation of territories surrounding communication immediately suggests the duality, one perhaps familiar to everyone, which exists between secrecy and head-space. Perhaps, in a single word, it is possible to think of Circle of Silence as 'privacy' although to do so may not reveal the entire picture.
We continually negotiate with each other in socially coded ways. We are encouraged to be polite and respectful and this naturally leads to tact. Tact is not dishonesty perhaps but, stripped of the conventions, it often comes very close and can be manipulative. Between adults it can be patronising and then carries a negative energy which is actually difficult to overcome because, although the recipient may feel something is missing from the information, they may have little or no idea what.
Those wishing to offer readings of the Nomadic Oracle to others should be aware of a possible thread which is offered through Circle of Silence, one which always must be treated with care and precision.
It is a sad and horrifying fact but there are a great number of people who have, as children, suffered abuse, physical but also mental. The insane actions of adults behind the 'closed doors' of domestic privacy are now more commonly discussed perhaps, though they may never be understood. For the victim this may be the most difficult aspect of life and will inevitably be in the background.
We do not grow out of childhood, we grow into it, encasing the Inner Child in defensive layers of maturity. How can anyone 'neutralise' or ground a past experience of abject abuse? Even the most ethereal view may fail if the horror returns spontaneously in dreams and nightmares. For a third-party Reader to lead an interpretation into this territory would be a fundamental mistake. As would ignorance that it may be a living reality.
Possession ~ Water in the Realm of Territories
Water, which the Oracle associates with the mind and its emotions, flows into the Realm of Territories in the form of 'Possession'. The Elements of Water provide a very clear visualisation as to why this must be the case.
Water collects and has a natural pooling energy. It harbours its resources, bringing them together ultimately to the Ocean where it may discover community, tranquility and depth. The container-like energy of Territories diverts this free-flowing natural action. This may lead to stagnation or to an unnatural build-up of pressure. The containment reinforces both the role and the voice of those amongst us who choose to act as valves and controllers. From this follows attachment, addiction, ownership and a wide range of similar behaviours which can generally be described as 'Possession'.
The strategic, planned or simply habitual control of one person over another through mental domination can lead to another, less obvious thread which 'Possession' may help to uncover. The energy of psychological control may perhaps lead to a more insidious, subtle energy, that of psychic invasion. 'Seeing' shows that we are sensitive to vibrations well beyond the ordinary world. Some people believe they have been psychically possessed, perhaps as a form of projection. Such insights should be taken very seriously.
